"It is not titles that honor men, but men that honor titles." Niccolo Machiavelli.

how can you say that you're standing by me?
Your body stands as but a hollow shell
your compassion seems to be lost at sea,
swallowed by Hypocrisy's swell

But, even after all that you have done,
my heart still refuses to let you go
it has found a love that can't be undone,
and that love stands as your fatal last blow

like romeo, a love will make me die
my final words, like romeo's, shall ring
but, though we'll each give love our final cry,
i alone will end my life for nothing

romeo has a girl to join in death
you, the one i love who's standing right here,
will never join me after your last breath
for your love happens to be nowhere near

The author's comments:
It is about being in love with someone who does not return the affection and who destroys everything about you, and I wrote it because it resonates with the side of me that is angry at love and the fact that it is so easy to fall for the wrong person.
