The Wild Mustang
Standing watch over his herd,
Ears twitching,
Listening for any strange sounds,
Eyes wide open, aware of everything around him.
Suddenly he hears the wild call of an enemy, a cougar.
He whinnies as loud as he possibly can to alert his herd.
They look up, straight at him, their leader.
From finishing the warning command,
He runs and gets in front of the herd,
The herd running, following after him,
Their hoof beats sounding like a thousand Indian drums being played.
Finally, he slows down, telling the herd that it is all right,
Leads them to a nice, large grazing spot, knowing they are safe now,
Climbs to the top of the highest rock,
Watching over his herd once again.
