Lonely
On the edge of the joy
 Close enough to hear it,
 See it,
 Taste it,
 Smell it,
But never close enough to feel it

 Another day gone by
 Not a participant or spectator
 Just a passer by
 Never noticed, forgotten later

Watching as they laugh and joke
 With their friends,
As my heart begins to choke

They all have a role to play,
 In each others hearts, everyday.

 But never me..
 There's no room for me
 No place to be..

 Days turn to months
 Months turn to years
 I put on plastic smile
To mask a damaged heart and tears

The search for where I fit in never ends
I envy those of you, with a close group of friends
