I stood on that cliff
Looking out at the ocean
Just dreaming.
The wind was flowing through my hair.
The sun was shining on my face.
I look out at the ocean
Wishing you could be at my side.
Even though your not here now,
You’ll be in my heart.
Everyday I stand at the cliff.
Waiting for you to return home.
You’ve been gone for so long,
Being out at war.
Why did you have to go?
Why couldn’t you have stayed?
For as long as you gone
I will wait on that cliff
For you safe return home.
