Where I'm From
I am from family,
from laughter and family-get-togethers.
I'm from the pictures of lost memories
(longing, wishing
for the past times.)
I am from the trips to Grandma's
and the 'puppy dogs'
whose curly fur
cuddled up next to me.
I am from music and love,
from lessons and hugs.
I am from the creatives,
and romantics,
from One more time! and I love you!
I'm from dinner prayers
with an ending 'Amen'
and the loud voice I love to hear.
I am from Ricky and Charlotte's loving arms,
cookies, put-em-togethers and Grandma's chocolate hugs.
From sing-a-longs and hands and feet
from embarrassing stories
and the great love for a grandma.
In a little town,
there's a family
waiting to get together.
To laugh and hug and stay forever.
I am from the past, present and future
of the hectic life i live
and I keep the tradition going.
