One hand holding hers,
the other resting in the small of her back,
he leads;
she follows.
The music sways,
brushing against her arms;
first soft yellow tendrils,
then building up
to a deep blue
that laps over her skin
like waves.
His hand touches the white satin
at her waist,
and he whispers her sweet pink name,
and tells her she’s beautiful –
even more beautiful
than the colours of her favourite song.

I wanted to write a poem about synesthesia, so I wrote about a synesthetic guy and his new bride dancing at their wedding :)

If you want to know about synesthesia, check out my article here: http://teenink.com/nonfiction/personal_experience/article/216349/Synesthesia/

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Beautiful. That's all I can say...

Such a creative and beautiful poem. Hmmm, synesthesia, I've never heard of it before.
