Honesty is Overrated

I'm denying everything that is true -
it's so much easier that way.
And so I'll pretend that I don't like you,
because it's the simplest thing to say.
And I wish you weren't so into her -
maybe then I'd tell you the truth.
And maybe it's true I never learn,
because this story is not even new.
