I'm standing in my bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror, repeating previous conversations, imagining what I'll say in future ones, not even considering that other people think these sorts of things instead of saying them out loud.
Then, my roommate knocks on the door and looks at me funny when she walks in. You know that look that people give you when they're trying to make sense of what you're doing?
I tell her that I'm just talking to myself, and, of course, she just walks out of the bathroom, and closes the door with that look still plastered on her face.
So, yes, I talk to myself. I talk to myself because I feel the need to say things that can't actually be said to the people they should be said to. I talk to myself because sometimes I need to complain about things without other people getting annoyed with me.
I talk to myself because, when others are not, I am Listening.
