Whitman, here is some Lithium
and to Ginsberg some Ritalin -
I didn't see either of you in a supermarket,
but in a waiting room at the psychiatrist's office.
Both browbeaten by PhDs and Theories
while slouching stunned- silently scanning Time magazine-
secretly etching poetry on Post-It notes between
pages with suspicious, over-the-shoulder peeks.
