Starlight

Look at the stars!

they are the glitter of a

dragonfly’s wing,

the shine of an oyster’s

pearl,

the snowflake caught in your lashes.

I will snatch one from the sky,

little Firefly,

and press it to your cheek.

Where we touch,

our skin burns

your hair glows

with starlight.

The night is alive,

little Firefly.

The bright orbs

in the world above

twinkle (can you hear them?)

and the moon bursts

with metallic colors,

throwing it’s shadows

to the lake below (look how the waters ripple!)

I don’t notice, though;

I am looking at your eyes,

the curve of your lips.

I am looking at the stars.
