I find myself floating in an ocean of hatters’ hats
Mad as ants and rosier than roses themselves, all of them
All made of satin sheets and redwood weaves
Glossy yet affirming that the world is indeed turning
In the front, out the back, scratch my hat, turn to ash
Now and then I find myself in the henhouse too
Growing older picking carrots here with you

-

Red walls of brick surround me now
Origins of which are foreign forever
Searching throughout me I still have not found
Eternity and its meaning yet time is running out
Years have gone by and yes you may cry

-

Greatness rises and it falls
Reaching out to the corners of civilizations
And then collapsing upon itself in broken, beaten arms and alms
Now you must realize you are but a single being
Damned to only be a single beam of light in a dim world
Must it only matter where you shine your light
And happiness will be unfurled

-

Go now with contentment for happiness will shine
Reach out with greatness and inward with compassion
Eternal sunlight radiates off of your skin
Adding its warmth to yours and then again
Time will only tell if you’ll see the light again
