Tissues tangoed
Across her face.
Wiping the tears
Off their feet,
Off her cheeks.
Now she can dance,
To a new beat
And even though
She misses the tango.
Her smile is teaching
Her how to swing
To the tune of
A salsa.


The author's comments:
The idea for this poem came from a lot of conversations about music, and I loved the alteration in the first line.
