So many roses
kisses and hugs

The gifts given
I expect none

Is the smiles and thank yous
from those receiving
The gifts from me

It’s my chance
To be creative
To give life and happiness
To my many friends

As the day may be
I like the cliché
Only this day

I want no gifts
No flowers
No love
It’s my turn
To give it all back

I may be alone
This Valentine’s Day
But enjoy
The happiness
Of everyone else

Cry later today
But until then
