Toes of Prose
I missed this pen;
longed to feel it
pirouette across pages
between my calloused fingers.
En pointe, it dances about,
giving way to steady vernacular.
It dips, glides, leaps, and twirls
like a prima ballerina
and stops at the end of the poem
with a practiced halt.
