Dark clouds cover
a once-blue sky.
I never had time
to tell them good-bye

I'm not so sure
where I am...
I try to get back...
But...I don't know...if I can

Clouds get darker,
and harsh winds blow...
Something feels wrong,
but I...just don't...know

I'm hearing voices,
I'm seeing faces,
I just wish I knew them...
and all these strange...places

Nothing is familiar.
I feel so lost...
Like I'm fighting something
that can't be fought

The sky is so black...
Where is the sun?
I want to escape.
I want to run

But if I did flee,
where would I go?
I wouldn't know how...
I...I wouldn't know

Dark clouds cover
a once-blue sky.
I never had time
to tell them good-bye

Inspired by my grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease. I tried to write it as if it were from her point of view.
