My Delight
Under the bright full moon
 I hear you say
 Those sweet few words
I want you to say again

 In my heart
I know that they are there
I just want it to be
 What it should
 So say it again
 Just for me

 Sitting by the river
 I thought about it again
 the way it felt
Is what put that smile on my face

 I know what you said
But I just want to be clear,
 Did you say
what I thought you would say?
 In my dreams
 It was whispered clear
Something that told me to stay

 Alone at night
 Just before dawn
You should as you know you do
 keep it for yourself

I don’t care what others say
for what I hear is something different
 Something that I alone
 got to hear
It was whispered in the wind
Even if you weren’t sitting right here

 That may be the best
 part of it
 Waiting
 Missing the day and night
 so that tomorrow
 Your face brings me
 My Delight
