"Don't compromise yourself, it's all you've got." - Janis Joplin

Bumbling thoughts and clumsy steps, it seems it’s been a year I’ve slept.
A single smile from you awakes, my heart, my soul, my little strength.
You grasp my hand, my heart gives in.
One sweet kiss, a thoughtless bliss.
It’s true, my wall is wearing thin.
It’s you I can’t shake from my thoughts;
It’s you that hold the key.
The key to what? To whom you say?
The key to silly old me.
Unlock the doors and cut the ties,
The ones of kisses, the kind of butterflies.
My one pure wish, hold me close.
No use in trying, my heart won’t slow.
I only want for you to see,
Truly just how much you mean.

I can relate to this so much! You capture so much emotion and feeling and fit it into so few lines! :) I tend to be a little long winded, but you manage to do a fantastic job with half as many lines. :D Grea job. A poem of mine that is similar to this (though considerably less graceful and smooth) is called *A Treaty* if you wanna check it out :) Keep writing!
