Live Life Like A Party That Never Ends

Apathetic American
Don’t you care
Soldiers are fighting
Sacrificing their lives
So that you may have
The superficial lifestyle
Freedom gives you

Apathetic American
Don’t you pledge
Allegiance to our flag
Of 13 stripes
And 50 white stars
Fold your hand
Over your heart

Apathetic American
Don’t you sing
Our nation’s anthem
For the home of the brave
Proud to represent
Star spangled banners
Red, white, and blue

Apathetic American
Don’t you know
The history and sacrifice
Our founding fathers
Endured to write
A declaration of independence
To free me and you

This is dedicated to my former American History teacher, Mr. Clark, for inspiring a feeling of patriotism throughout the school and in all of his students. As he proudly displays in his classroom, "Apathy is not an option!"

Awesome, awesome poem! OMG! This spreads patriotism in me. :D The message is very clear, very detailed. The use of figurative language is extraordinary. I love the way your words fit perfectly into your poetry.

I can see that you are very patriotic. You express yourself very well through poetry. :D
