Nature's Party
The car door slams hard
And I’m transported to another realm
The world lies still aside from the storm
 Rain plummets down
With the sound of applause in a stadium
 Each minuscule movement joined together
 For a triumphantly powerful sound

 A nearby crow speaks
 Though the fluid air
Like a DJ adding his two-cents
The sound muffled by the rain

 The thunder strikes
Like the angry pounding on a Lambeg
 Followed by the pulsing lightning
Similar to a strobe light in a club

 I would continue this except
The person I was waiting for
Just got back into the car
 Halting the mystifying thoughts
 Bringing me back
Into a fast paced world–into reality
Exactly where I don’t want to be
