I wear the mask that hides the hurt and the pain
It hides me from all of my fright and shame
You make me so mad, but I can’t let anyone see
You hurt everyone, but especially me
That is why I wear the mask

The slaps in my face and blows to my arm
You were never supposed to bring any harm
I sit alone so no one knows
I wear the mask

Harassment and yelling is all I’ve known
But smiles and laughter is all I’ve shown
I hide it all inside
No one has seen the tears I’ve cried
I’ll always hide
I wear the mask
