Oh my love Poetry

An unseen beauty

Whenever I need your help

You allow me to express myself

In a form of spiritual wealth

I release all my anger, pain

And sad or happy feelings

Whatever goes on in my brain

Whichever I might be revealing

You keep me humane

Preventing me from going insane

I can always give you my trust

You see there’s a poet in all of us

No matter how often you write

Or how many times you’re published

It’s all just what you feel inside

You don’t need anybody’s judgment

The pen or pencil is a tool

The paper is your project

The emotion is your fuel

The ideas are your objects

The message gives your poem life

The metaphors detail your message

The images give your readers sight

The structure gives a writer leverage

I formally thank all poets

For being themselves

No matter the style of your poems

Whether or not you rhyme a lot

Or if you paint images with your pen

I prefer to write alone in my box

It doesn’t matter where or when

When an idea comes I begin to jot

Poetry you’re a form of therapy

That gives our lives relief

Along with a little clarity

After we feel much grief

You might be in hard times

This is your way to cope

You might feel unloved all the time

This is what gives your life hope

You could also have strong emotion

Towards what you write about

This keeps your mind focused

Instead of just running your mouth

You could also want a challenge

Or maybe you want to show off talent

Whatever the case is

Adult, teen or kid

We all have a life to live

And we all live different lives

I struggle and so do you

But we all must survive

I’d just like to say “Thank You Poetry”

For being one of my guides

Because without it

I might lose my mind

“Thank You again Poetry!”

For flowing through me

Inspiring me and others

To express ourselves

And or be heard by one another.
