Dead Weight
I swam through waters
That were once crystal clear
And bathe myself in lies
Scrubbing away the truth
Scrubbing away everything...
That was ever truly you
Scrubbing away every single...
Selfish thing you do
But I could never wash away
Those bitter words that echo through my ears
Falsehoods making way to reality
Tearing away the image you and I held so high
And all that remains is a heavy heart
With limp arms
And no more room to tread
I'll leave this world drowning in all my enemies
With the sour title of your 'daughter'
Still hanging over my head
