Sunlight
The most beautiful thing
 that I ever saw,
 was the sunlight that fell
 against the wall.
 While I lay on the floor,
 when it was still clean and white.
 Back in the day,
 when I slept through the nights.
 But you took that away,
 and you left me for dead.
 For the first time alone,
 all alone in my head.
 And all of the friends
 that followed you out the door;
 Every one broke me
 a little bit more.
 And the most beautiful thing,
 that I never could see,
 was the sunlight that's always
 obscured by the trees.
 While I lay on the ground,
 though it's dirty and cold,
 and think about all of
 the lies that you told.
 Because you took it away,
 and you left me for dead.
 For the first time alone,
 all alone in my head.
 And all of the friends
 that followed you out the door;
 Each one broke me just
 a little bit more.
 But I struggled through it,
 I was doing alright.
 I had strong arms to hold me,
 while I slept through the night.
 And when I woke up,
 the first thing that I saw,
 was the brilliance of sunlight,
 falling against the wall.
 Then those strong arms;
 They dropped me,
 and he left me for dead.
 Alone once again,
 all alone in my bed.
 And I couldn't get up
 to follow him out the door.
 Another lost battle,
 but I will win this war.
