Heartbreak MAG

Between the peppermint coffee
And the tango dance lessons
(Midnight, on the beach)
She’ll make you fall
Into a candy-filled “love”
That barely conceals
The shadowed thorns and needles
Underneath.

But she never wanted
To fall in love,
Definitely not with you.

So she’ll leave;
Pack up her flashy things
That you bought her
In hot pink luggage bags.
There will be no trace of her,
No proof she existed,
Except the thorns and needles
You now sleep in.
