Once upon a time
there was girl.
Pretty and nice.
Oh, such a pearl.
She had a friend.
He was a boy.
Handsome and kind.
Love does employ.
They went for a walk
as good friends do.
Stopped under a tree
Then to her he did woo.
She refused his love
Snap, broke his heart.
Left a taste in his mouth
Bitter and tart.
She chose someone else
Manly and strong.
He caught her heart,
Dragged her along.
The man doesn’t love,
As the handsome boy does.
The man uses hand
To change is to was.
The pretty nice girl,
now scarred and scared,
Lived out her days
Nails and teeth bared.
The handsome boy saw
her unfortunate fate.
With a heart full of love
A rescue would not wait.
Now they live together,
the boy and the girl,
Both pain and love,
Both sand and pearl.
