His Eyes

His eyes leaked Ray Charles' music onto my soul when he smiled at me
His eyes tickled me with their honey tinted gaze when he said my name
His eyes laced themselves in the yarn of my memory when he left
His eyes whispered me lullabies when we danced
His eyes kidnapped me long before I agreed to runaway with him
And it was his eyes that plucked out my heart rather grotesquely from my chest ruined Ray Charles for me.
