"Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed."
-G.K. Chesterton

Flowers sway peacefully in the breeze.
Birds call to each other, concealed in the trees.
Butterflies dip and rise through the air.
A rabbit flicks its ears without a care.
In a few years the flowers will have died,
The birds will have left for a new place to hide.
The butterflies will have all but faded away,
The rabbits will have sought a new place to stay.
Buildings will replace the beautiful land -
No longer untouched by humanity's destructive hand,
One less habitat for wildlife to thrive,
Contaminated with technology, no longer "alive."
They will overlook the redeeming parts of the land,
The life, the beauty, was all too natural to understand.
Look upon my home while you still have the chance,
For I'll have to leave soon, for the humans advance.
