The real monsters.
Monsters don’t sleep under your bed, they sleep inside your head.
They lurk in the darkest depths of your subconscious.
They sit there waiting.
Waiting for that song, that thought.
The thing that sends you spiraling down a road of no return.
The road of sorrow, pain, & woe that makes you want to curl up & die.
Makes you want to fall upon your knees & cry.
These aren’t the type of monsters you can run from.
The kind that disappears when you turn on a light or open the closet door.
These monsters are a part of you.
They are you.
& it’s time for you to face your demons.

And that's the thing about the future. It's unknown, unknowable, but before you know it, you're there.
i love that you can write amazingly.
this world needs some more people like you.
but i hate to admit that what you wrote about is true.
and now it'll be lurking on my mind forever LOL
