Escalators. Subways. Moldly syrup.
Spiders, snakes, and mosquitoes.
Cliffs. Waking up mute. 9-11.
House fires and Roald Dahl.
Abandoning my cat
to save my dog. Towers. Guns.
Dolls with no eyes.
Raspberries. War. Tall men and lightning.
Forests disappearing. Never getting lost––
or found. Plague. Barbie’s hair. Needles.

Drowning in a sea of people and
no one noticing.
