Sometimes
i know this routine,
i know how this story goes,
we've been here before.
you coming at me out of the blue
like a piece of a broken star.
we end in me walking away,
a smile on painted lips,
tears welling up behind glass eyes.
that's right.
i cried for you.
do you really want to drag me back to you?
like a yo yo that always comes back,
because i'm a sucker
for brown eyes and a crooked smile,
and rough hands that don't mind work.
i know how this ends.
been there.
done that.
bought the whole roadside stand of t-shirts.
i can't go back again
can i?
it looks like you're dragging me back,
and its not that im unwilling..
its just that i dont remember the reasons
you did what you do..
and you wont tell me.
