A Handprint on my Heart
I still remember that day
 you walked into my life

Not knowing if our paths would part ways
or cross at times only to be broken
or perhaps they would slow down waiting for the other to catch up

All I knew is something clicked
 and you made me smile
 all along the way

 However you’ve seen me
 cry, scream, kick and complain
 more often than most

But you know our paths have not only clicked
 but crashed
not knowing what tomorrow will bring
except for the simple fact that you will be there

To hold me when I cry
Tickle me to make me laugh
To make me smile even when I don’t want to
To cover my eyes when I am scared
and to be a friend when I feel alone

Whether you like it or not
you are a part of my world
and I hope you’ll except me as part of yours

 For ever since that
 first day
 you unknowingly left
 a handprint on my heart
