The Ever Loosening String that Hold Me Together
Tears stream freely
Pride stripped from me
Heart exposed.
How could I have been so stupid?
Nothing's great for long.
Just like the Moon has to be replaced by the Sun.
Just like flowers blacken with Death.
Just like the Rain that's replaced by a rainbow.
Just like my heart,
That's being held together
By a strand of string,
Trying to keep it together.
Though it is forever broken.
That string is loosening.
And soon,
It will fall to pieces,
Unable to be put together again.
Just like I will be.
How could I have been so stupid?
Tear stream freely
Pride stripped from you
Heart exposed.
And again, Heartbroken.
Trying to find a glue the scattered pieces,
Back in place.
But, I don't know,
If there's a strong enough glue,
That can put me back together
And to keep it from shattering into pieces.
Just like I don't think,
There's anybody else
Who can be my anchor,
My glue,
My soul,
And my heart
That will be broken
Nevermore.
