A One-Time Friend
Through tall blades of dew-dropped green
Through an ocean, a sword-like sea
You wade through this as if it were not
To you- to you! O' glorious o' mighty ones, it is nothing.
What, pray tell, what does that make me?
What am I if the green-sword sea is nothing?
Am I less than nothing?
A mere pondering, a story- a story that has long since been forgotten.
I may have been forgotten- but that does mean that I am not here.
You may have forgotten me, but I still watch you- a heartbroken lover spurned.
Once, once in your childhood you cherished me, worshiped me.
But children's laughter has long since fled, and my tears takes it place.
So I watch from the dew-drop sea; From the green-sword sea.
My voice stilled my thoughts unheard.
