My escape
I’m barefoot, walking.
Nothing with me
Just the clothes on my back
And a piece of paper in my pocket with numbers written on it.
I escaped, I‘ve been locked up for more than a year.
By those who wanted what I had
Jealousy
Is what they had
I’m cold
Shaking
The rain falls even harder making it difficult to see
I look up and open my mouth letting the rain drops sooth my dry and warm throat
Everything’s changed
The place I once knew as home is gone
Burned to crisp
I have to find him
Make sure he is not also ashes, along with the rest of humanity
He escaped I can feel it
I run to wherever my feet take me leading me to him to say
‘’I’m Alive”
