How awkward the tree
Of ice and hail
Looks when brute winds come to play
For they rip away
Her lovely

And leave instead
A somber mourning dress of gray
But hush!
Don't tell her that I said it
Just think of all the things she'd say
If she, the girl
And I,
The tree
