The better you feel about yourself the less you have to knock others down.
Everything happens for a reason.
We want to be remembered.

It always
starts the same way

It rips pieces
of my heart
one by one
slowly out of my chest.

And yet,
I always
gave you
the benefit of doubt.

I always thought
that you had changed,
but you never did.

I won't say
I'm sorry that
you were dumb and pathetic
enough to lose me,

Because I'm not.

You lost me
and it was
your own fault.

I'm free now,
free to do as i please.

So, this is a final
farewell to you...

Goodbye, Dad...

The author's comments:
I wrote this after a big fall out with my father.. I told my mom that I never wanted to see him again.. & that I didn't care if he never had anything to do with me ever again, & that he hated me... & I him.
This poem is what I long to say to him, but can not.
