"If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there"

- Michael Langley, 'Staying Alive'

And time stood still.
The laughter stopped, some mouths wide open
And eyes stared at nothing as of in a trance.
Someone stops falling in mid-air, books falling from her grasp.
An argument stops, one boy looking lost in the world.
A mother sits and silently cries, looking for her lost child.
A child huddled in a ball looks at scurrying feet in fear, only wanting to hold her mama’s hand.
On the playground the see-saw is even for once, with children on both sides stuck in mid-air.
A young boy stops blowing out the birthday candles on his cake, there are six in all.
And so much more stopped:
Joy, sadness, glee, misery and more
As time stood still.
