It is showtime
Time to put on the dress the fake eyelashes and those red Stilettos
Transform myself into a new person
When the spotlight hits
I am Angel
I shake and sway on stage
beating the drum at my own pace
Treating every breathe I take as if it were my last
i am at home with the lights and noise of the roaring crowd
Its what give life and a reason to go on
But this moment never last
At the end of the night i wash it all off
Taking Angel away piece by piece until all that is left is me
Just the shell of who I want to be

The author's comments:
This was something i wrote during our school production of Rent. I was a makeup artist for it so every night I had my my friend Johno into Angel strip him down put the tights wig makeup and dress on and it just made me think about how Angel felt.
