She haunts me in dreams
Her exquisite beauty embellished
By the moonlight raining down
Upon her silken skin

I watch as she dances across
The moonlit beach along with
The sound of placid waves
The shimmering stars seem
To dance along with her

Entranced by the way she glides
As she moves towards me
Graceful as an angel in flight
She takes my hand into hers

I gaze into beautiful eyes
As we start to dance
Twisting and twirling
Her hair flowing in the wind
We dance as if there's no tomorrow
Knowing this night will last forever
Just as long as we never stop

The music from nowhere suddenly slows
And we come closer together
There's no air in between us now
As she rests her head on my shoulders
And we start to sway back and forth
The scent of her hair, the perfume on her skin
Intoxicates me and I drift deeper into the dream

I can feel her heart
Beating along with mine
She looks up at me
And my pulse quickens
She stares into my soul
As I admire her chocolate brown eyes
Mesmerized by the deepness

The music has stopped
The only sound left are
Our hearts beating their own melody
I lean in closer, still staring into her eyes
She licks her lips and pulls me closer
Forbidden and unforgivable thoughts rush into my head
We close our eyes, our lips only a fraction apart
We give into our desire…

The kiss never happens
The walls of the dream come crashing down
As she disappears before my eyes
And I wake up to face the truth
I've fallen in love with the dream
And had my heart broken by reality
