Little Bird
I was happily singing in my nest,
 nuzzled against mommy bird,
 until I felt a drop,
 deep, exhilarating, onto hard concrete,
 "Chirp, Chirp!"
I mimicked a call to mommy bird,
but a shadow appeared over me,
 thrilled voices,
 rushed against me,
feeling like a mound of vibration,
 upon my tender feathers,
 frightened, shocked, innocent I was,
 challenging myself to fly,
 till a hushed voice,
 calmed them down,
and I was nuzzled against mommy bird once more.
