Her fingers are tentative,
Soft at first,
As she glides over the ivory keys

Then tension arises in the
Dance of muted staccato notes –
She strings a half-sleepy tune
Before the chrysalis erupts into
A steadier rhythm across the
Expanse of the keyboard,
This is a tempo of lurid procession
And velvet-edged harmony –
Her fingers twirl like lively ballerinas
On the surface of the moon-white keys.

Then it all hushes to
A quiet, solemn succession of arpeggio
Laced with soft-edged flats –
The notes are gentle,
Barely brushing each key,
Then a tranquil

I like the imagery in your poem! I suggest that instead of using similes, using metaphors would work better for this particular poem. Other than that, the flow is really nice!

Beautiful, beautiful imagery. I liked the fact that I could picture every moment in the poem. You had excellent word choice. Well done:)
