The book: whose hard cover represents my attitude.
The book: whose chapters represent each one of my hardships.
The book: who later becomes tattered just as I will one day be.
The book: whom everyone is uninterested of after just one read.

People read my eyes to understand my story,
But my tale is still being written.
I am an incomplete book
That yet has room for improvement.

I hope one day I become a best seller:
Sitting on a pedestal with a shining golden star.
I hope one day people read my legacy-
Once upon a time, there was and there was not.

Thank you so much! I had realized how people hate reading books but don't realize how much we have in common!

What a beautiful interpretation and translation of emotion correlated to an object which most see every day but think nothing of needless to say use. Books are the root of wisdom, knowledge, and power. They provide mental growth, and spiritual progression and the best part is that we all are unfinished books leading to a climax and eventually a conclusion but no one ever sees the metaphor. This is an amazingly well thought poem.

Although it's short it really amazed me! The writer really made it seem like she was the book, she wants to be accepted like a best-seller.So much emotion!
