My Day

I've always heard
That my time will come
I just have to wait
But I'll never move forward
If I keep up at this rate
I've got to take matters into my own hands
I've got to make my choices by myself
I can't let others sway me this way or that
I have to trust my gut and keep moving forward
I will no longer wait for someone to push me along
Instead I will run towards my goals at record pace
I will make today the day
The day I am set free
The day I come alive
The day that I make mine
