"I don't wish to be everything to everyone, but I wish to be something to someone"

I've noticed you changed
And become the shell
of a girl that I used to know well
You look the same
Talk the same
Sound the same
But where are you?
For your actions have changed
And all that's left is a hollow shell
Of the girl
That once was perfect
And the loneliness is overwhelming
And my heart is seized
Where have you gone?
You're a ghost
A shell
An empty, discarded soul
I used to know you so well
But you've disappeared from my life
And I threw back the remaining shell
Back into the ocean of regret and memories

My friend inspired me to write this poem using a line from the Christina Perri song "The Lonely". Only this is written on a different topic.
