The Trees

The trees stir softly,
Whispering of loneliness
The trees rustle excitedly,
Telling of a new day
The trees roar and crack and bend,
Shouting of rage
The trees hum sleepily,
Murmuring of stillness
People rush and hurry and skitter,
The trees speaking all the while
The trees tell us all the answers,
If only we think to listen
