I Wish I'd Known
The picture sits alone on my shelf
 A shrine to the night
 When you took my heart

And maybe I took yours too?

 You never told me
So how could I ever know?

It hurts when I look at it.
It hurts to see how happy I was.

 How happy we were.

 Still it sits there
 A constant reminder
 Surrounded by dying flowers.

How could you do this to me?

I still cry when I think back.
I was so naive in that picture
There was no way I could have ever know
It would turn out like this.

There was no way I could know
It was possible to fall in love with you
There was no way I could’ve known
I would be so in love with you
That’d I’d suffer through all the pain
 To be just your friend.
There was no way I could’ve known
You were in love with her
There was no way I could’ve know
 You’d go to her
 After you took me home.

 I wish I had known.

I could’ve saved myself so much pain
 So much time wasted.
 But I didn’t.
And even though I do know now,
 I can’t leave you.
I know you’re bad for me
I know I can’t go on much longer like this

 But I can’t let go.

 God, I feel so alone.
