Blue Beta Fish
Every time I walk into the store
It always seems like pets galore
Dogs are here and cats are there
Lizards and parrots are everywhere
As I walk along the aisles I see
Many fish that swim before me
I walk to the counter to a water filled dish
And there I see a blue beta fish
That beta fish is a lonely soul
Swimming alone in that small, empty bowl
Its blue shiny tail flipping about
Soggy fish flakes tickling its snout
Then suddenly that beta fish is I
I have to leave now, I say goodbye
The love I have grown for that simple being
Has given my life a whole new meaning
