Am I just a photograph hanging on your wall?
Not caring if it’s slowly fading
Because it’s better to fade, than not be there at all.
Or am I more like your mirror,
Because when you look you see
The dark reflection,
Your need for a war,
That took me years to ignore.
No, I think where I lie
Is the dirt beneath your feet.
Without me you couldn’t stand,
But you can’t stand the thought of me.
