Xiao Dre, when life knocks you down, you can choose, whether or not, to get back up

So you want to know why I act like this?
Why I never follow rules,
Why I never do my homework,
Why I always get detention?
Why I break things,
Why I write on walls,
Why I key cars?
I act like this
So I can be larger than life,
Free from authority's restrictions,
Above pressures of conformity,
If only for a second.
This is me.
Why?
Because I need my identity.
Because every time I come home,
I know I can't be myself.
I know every time I come home,
You give me a different identity.
I know every time I come home,
I am suddenly fat, stupid, ugly.
I am my me
To escape your me.

We act certain ways to escape the confines of our so-called superiors: the ones who know "all." We act certain ways to form a new identity, one different from the one's our "superiors" give us.
