Harsh Mentality, the Hidden Reality
Standing near the curtain's lace
 With your fingertips you trace
The mirror's edge, the reflection shown
Gawking at your skin on bones
 Displeased with your reflection
You turn to the side, around, then shun
Hovering your hands above your torso
 Wondering why you are so
 "Fat, large, obese and obsessed,"
"The gawks, the whispers... they make me depressed."
You fight this voice with a louder tone
"You are what is in the mirror shown!"
Grasping your skull you collapse in agony
As you rage within to attempt to see
 The mirror does not lie
 The mirror does not try
It is the mind that boasts
 That damages most
 Gasping for air
 Awakening from this nightmare
You move to stand, face the mirror
Gazing at your reflection, feeling inferior
 Standing near the curtain's lace
 With your fingertips you trace
The mirror's edge, the reflection shown
Gawking at your skin on bones
